		<description>Actually, I believe it started EXACTLY 20 years ago, with Mossimo.  The guy made a fortune, blew it all on hookers and blow, and now to the extent the brand still exists it&#039;s a Target/Wall-Mart cheap-ass bulk volksklothingsprodukt line.

A work acquaintance of mine seized upon it and tried to start his own line of &quot;beach volleyball activewear&quot; - not even a new design, he just got the same shit from the same factory, including those terrible terrible shorts that were cut to look like you&#039;d dropped a load in your pants. It failed, but he was basically one of the people you&#039;re talking about: straight, connected Newport Beach recreational alcoholic.

He was just too ambitious, too early.</description>
